Jason Van't Padje

Upon reflection the 100% truth was, they actually weren’t really into having a huge wedding anyway. Jess was terrified of standing up in front of a crowd of people (OMG I hear this so much) and Madison confirmed that the large gathering just wasn’t really ‘them’ anyway.

When Madison and Jess first inquired with Jason about their wedding in 2019, they were planning the “Port Douglas soiree”, surrounded by a large number of family and friends; nuptials in paradise, sun down on the wharf.

The dress was sorted, the vendors were all locked and loaded; then came the big C, ankle tapping yet another plan mid flight. Before long they were postponing their wedding until 2021, disappointed but that’s what everyone is doing right?

While wedding vendors in Cairns were crippling, Jason The Raw Photographer and Ewan from Hudson films had a brain collision and created an elopement package that followed the strict guidelines of social distancing and gave couples OPTIONS.

With all the overwhelm, it ‘s nice to have a beacon of guidance in there right? Finding the true north. I mean, what is getting married all about anyway?

When Madison and Jess saw what Jason and Ewan were offering it was an opportunity to discuss exactly that. What is this all about? Why are we doing this?

You see, if you look a little closer, there are many silver linings of the big C and in this case it was the opportunity for Madison and Jess to create EXACTLY what they wanted rather than what they thought they ‘should’ do.

But you don’t need a global pandemic to let you off the hook.

Don’t ‘should’ all over your wedding day. It’s not there to serve others or tradition or tightly held beliefs that aren’t yours. It’s about connecting with your partner and making a commitment to one another in a space where you are comfortable and in the moment.

But you should totally print your wedding photos.
